Peter Bollard
Founder and Principal

Peter Bollard has over 30 years of experience in immigration law and has been recognised as an Accredited Specialist in immigration law by the Law Society of New South Wales since 1976

 

Peter is regarded as one of Australia's leading migration lawyers and is a prolific writer and commentator whose expert opinion is regularly sought by his peers.  In the past, he has also been listed numerous times under the category of “Best Immigration Lawyers” published by the Australian Financial Review. 


Peter has been a practicing solicitor since 1976. Peter has practiced exclusively in the field of immigration law for over 30 years.  He is a pioneer in the Australian immigration advice industry and has handled abundance of challenging and complicated immigration matters.  His wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry is incomparable and unmatched.  He has assisted hundreds of clients to obtain visas for Australia and assisted many businesses across a number of industries in obtaining employer sponsored visas for their foreign workers. 

Peter regularly represents clients in the Administrative Appeal Tribunal (AAT). He is experienced in handling health waiver cases and obtained favourable outcome for the clients.

 

Peter is the principal of Peter Bollard and Associates, a legal firm with a team of immigration experts specializing in corporate and individual immigration providing friendly and personalised immigration advice. He and the firm prides itself on outstanding client relationships as many of the firm’s clients have been dealing with Peter for decades.  He is a firm advocate of lawyers delivering not only legal expertise but also great customer service.   

 

Peter regularly authors articles on migration law and produces his own immigration law newsletter. Peter has presented countless seminars on migration law for the University of New South Wales, the Migration Institute of Australia, the Immigration Advice and Rights Centre, Migration Seminars Australia and other bodies.

Peter is also a co-author of “The Immigration Kit” 8th Edition published by the Federation Press.

Leela R Selvarajah  
Immigration Lawyer

Leela R Selvarajah obtained her degree of Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of London. After graduating, Leela worked in a London immigration law firm while studying for the Bar examinations. In 1994, she was admitted to the English Bar through the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, United Kingdom.

 

In 1996, she was called to the Malaysian Bar and was admitted in the High Court of Malaysia as an advocate & solicitor. Throughout her practice in Malaysia, she mostly worked as a civil litigation lawyer and handled myriad of corporate and family matters.

In 2011, she completed a post -graduate certificate in Migration Laws and Practice with Australian National University and became a registered migration agent. She has extensive experience in providing immigration advice and solutions in the highly specialised field of migration law and assisted hundreds of clients in their migration process.  She will walk you step by step through the application process, including health, character, language and any other relevant assessment procedures such as skills assessment.  

In 2019, she was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia and works as an immigration lawyer.   

Leela is a proficiently quadrilingual lawyer and highly skilled in working with clients of diverse backgrounds. She has experience in diverse areas of law while working in three different commonwealth jurisdictions. In Australia, she has a particular interest in the area of immigration law and a genuine passion for providing legal services in a holistic manner.  With her vast legal industry experience of almost more than two decades working with both international and Australian clients, Leela is a dedicated and driven lawyer who strives hard to ensure the best possible outcome for her clients.

Immigration Lawyer

Ruslan (Ross) Ahmadzai is an Immigration Solicitor specialising in corporate, individual as well as business migration. Ross is passionate about Global mobility and has a wealth of experience in advising clients on audit and compliance as well as sponsorship obligations placed on Australian businesses employing foreign nationals. Having worked in several law firms including Fragomen, and the big Four (KPMG), Ross has worked with clients across different sectors including IT, Construction, Health, Media & Communications. He advises clients on all areas associated with Australian immigration law.

 

He is admitted to practice as a solicitor in the High Court of Australia.

Margaret Lim
Senior Registered Migration Agent

Margaret Lim is an established Migration Agent within Sydney; having attained a Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law & Practices from Australian National University (MARN 1280757). With almost a decade of experience under her belt, Margaret is a successful registered Migration Agent since 2012, working closely with Peter Bollard and the team in highly complex cases. 

Margaret specialises in a range of visas, notably Employer Sponsored Visas (subclass 482/186) where she is involved in the process of assisting her clients obtain sponsorship for overseas employees. Working with Australian companies, she has flown to regional areas to ensure the employers are well-informed of the entire visa application process. Her passion for her work is exhibited in her professional work ethic, ensuring she follows up with the clients personally after the visa was granted. Margaret’s depth in knowledge within Partner Visas (subclass 820/801/309/100/300) is also a notable strong suit, presenting success in applying for the removal of condition of 8503 and applying for onshore partner visas.

As an immigrant to Australia herself, Margaret started out her journey as an overseas student and her experience translates to her passion for helping overseas students find suitable pathways to enjoy the rich culture that Australia can share. Margaret volunteers her time in hosting migration seminars organised by the local church. Being fluent in many languages, she has been able to help many students comprehend the complex immigration process with her strong spoken and written command of English, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) as well as complementary fluency in other Chinese dialects of Hokkien and Hainanese.

Prior to being a Migration Agent, her other qualifications in a Bachelor of Business Administration (Curtin University of Technology, Australia) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Surrey (UK) saw her gain a wide range of experience in the business field. Having worked as a Marketing Manager in a Retail establishment both in Hong Kong and Singapore before taking on an Associate Director role for a Real Estate Enterprise in Singapore.

Celine Kew
Paralegal/ Client Care Support

Celine is currently studying her Bachelor of Law (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce at the University of New South Wales.

Celine uses her considerable multitasking skills and customer service experience by providing detailed support to our solicitors and our clients.  She is a key member of our practice and the go- to person for research and file updates.  

Outside of work and study, she enjoys reading, traveling and chilling out with the vibrant local community in Sydney. She also speaks Korean proficiently.

Sylvia Edwards
Migration Assistant

Sylvia graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Technology, Sydney and subsequently went on to complete the Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice from the Australian National University.

 

She was admitted to the High Court of Australia in the year 2010.  She worked as a registered migration agent before embarking in further studies pursuing her Master of Laws (Applied Law) with the College of Law, New South Wales.

 

She mainly interviews our clients and assists our solicitors with the completion of the paperwork and is an integral member of our team dedicated to deliver positive results. She can speak Hindi on a conversational level.
